JUA insureds may now pay their premiums online with a debit or credit card, or by electronic check.
Please have your JUA Invoice available when accessing the JUA Payment Center. Your invoice will have important information required to complete an on-line payment.
If you prefer to pay by mail, please remit your check or payment to the address below and include both the policy number and the name of the insured medical professional with your payment.

Premiums are due on or before the policy’s renewal date. If payment is received more than 30 days after the policy has expired, there will be a lapse in coverage, and the policy will need to be rewritten. Please remember that brokers do not have binding authority and that payment to a broker does not constitute payment to the South Carolina JUA.
South Carolina Medical Malpractice Liability Insurance JUA
Online Payments Disclaimer
As an accommodation to our customers, the South Carolina Medical Malpractice Liability Insurance Joint Underwriting Association (JUA) has made arrangements with SC.GOV to process online premium payments via credit card or electronic check.1
There will be a non-refundable $1.00 portal fee and 1.7% merchant fee added to credit card transactions. The portal fee for Electronic Check payment is $2.50 per transaction. Electronic check payments are not subject to merchant fees. Merchant and portal fees are paid to SC.GOV and credit card companies, not the JUA. Payments made through the SC.GOV site will appear on your credit card/bank statement as payments to SC.GOV.
Please plan ahead, and give yourself at least one full business day before your payment is due. Please retain your receipt. It may take up to 3 days for your payment to post with the JUA. Payment to your account on-line does not bind coverage, and in no way affects the underwriting of your policy.
If you have specific timing considerations, contact the JUA during normal business hours to confirm proper receipt of payment, and make arrangements for the delivery of any necessary contracts or documentation of coverage.
The JUA and SC.GOV specifically reserve the right to collect any additional fees that may be charged back for declined transactions. A declined transaction could result in the cancellation of coverage.
I have read and accept this disclaimer and responsibility for the use of this information.
1 SC.GOV is an online portal developed by South Carolina Interactive, LLC to provide electronic access to government affiliated agencies, boards, and commissions. We welcome the opportunity to answer any questions you have regardless of your current insurance provider. For time sensitive requests, please contact a JUA colleague directly. The JUA cannot bind or alter coverage based on instructions received through our Contact Us form.
