South Carolina Medical Malpractice Liability Insurance JUA
Online Payments Disclaimer
As an accommodation to our customers, the South Carolina Medical Malpractice Liability Insurance Joint Underwriting Association (JUA) has made arrangements with SC.GOV to process online premium payments via credit card or electronic check.1
There will be a non-refundable $1.00 portal fee and 1.7% merchant fee added to credit card transactions. The portal fee for Electronic Check payment is $2.50 per transaction. Electronic check payments are not subject to merchant fees. Merchant and portal fees are paid to SC.GOV and credit card companies, not the JUA. Payments made through the SC.GOV site will appear on your credit card/bank statement as payments to SC.GOV.
Please plan ahead, and give yourself at least one full business day before your payment is due. Please retain your receipt. It may take up to 3 days for your payment to post with the JUA. Payment to your account on-line does not bind coverage, and in no way affects the underwriting of your policy.
If you have specific timing considerations, contact the JUA during normal business hours to confirm proper receipt of payment, and make arrangements for the delivery of any necessary contracts or documentation of coverage.
The JUA and SC.GOV specifically reserve the right to collect any additional fees that may be charged back for declined transactions. A declined transaction could result in the cancellation of coverage.
I have read and accept this disclaimer and responsibility for the use of this information.
